Selected as a fellow of the
International Association for Cryptologic Research (IACR)

Whitfield Diffie was selected as one of the first six fellows elected by the International Association for Cryptologic Research (IACR). The IACR is a non-profit scientific organization whose purpose is to support research in cryptology and related fields. The IACR Fellows Program was established in 2002 to recognize outstanding IACR members for their technical and professional contributions to cryptology and related fields.

The award was presented on May 5, 2004, during the Eurocrypt 2004 Conference in Interlaken, Switzerland, where Whit presented the IACR Distinguished Lecture on Monday, May 3, 2004.
