Requirements for the Sun Labs Internship Program
Applicants must be
full-time students both during and following the internship, and be enrolled in a Bachelor's,
Master's, or Ph.D. program in one of the following majors:
- Computer Engineering
- Computer Science
- Computer Information Systems
- Mathematics
- Electrical Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Industrial Engineering
- Management Information Systems (MIS)
Applicants should demonstrate strong academic achievement in a technical curriculum and maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Some internships also require experience with the following tools or programs:
- Computer architecture
- Cryptography
- CVS, or similar tools
- Embedded hardware development (esp. "mote" devices)
- J2ME networking
- Java Web services
- JSPs
- Logic design
- Networking protocols
- Testing circuits experience
- Wireless sensor networks
- XML
- XSLT
