Dr. Jordan Slott is a Staff Engineer for Sun Microsystems Laboratories in the Collaborative Environments group and is currently a core engineering team member of Project Wonderland, a 100% Java toolkit to build extensible, 3D virtual worlds.

Prior to his work on virtual worlds, he served as technical lead for the Sun Campus Ambassador program and previously conducted research on low bandwidth-capable thin clients. He is a co-author of the Java Telephony API (JTAPI) specification and AccessX (disabled user tools for Solaris and UNIX).

Jordan also leads a double life as an Earth Scientist, having conducted his PhD research in computer modeling (specifically for climate change), and has published in leading Geophysical (and Economic) research journals.

He is also currently co-host of the monthly radio program "Campus Cast", heard on the Sun Developer Network.

Jordan is a member of the Eta Kappa Nu Electrical Engineering Honor Society, the Sigma Xi Scientific Research Society, the American Geophysical Union, and (last but not least) the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association.
