Charles Jackson is the Internet Manager for Sun Microsystems Laboratories/CTO. His research interests include Graphics, Java, Programming Languages, Scalable information retrieval systems, User Interfaces and Web & Information Technology.

Charlie and his team designed an built the Research.Sun.Com web site, and designed and implemented the DMP methods for auto-populating discrete portions of web pages from a centralized database. Charlie and his team were also responsible for the OpenMediaCommons.org, HANAalliance.org, and SunSpotWorld.com sites.

In 1996, he created a worldwide distribution network for Sun's Tech Pubs departments, and was also reponsible for creating Sun's online trademarks database.

In his spare time, Charlie is an avid photographer, private pilot, and teaches ballroom dance.
