Dr. Hans Eberle Distinguished Engineer
Sedna Project
Sun Microsystems Laboratories
16 Network Circle umpk16-159 Menlo Park, CA 94025
Hans Eberle is currently leading the Next-Generation Switch project in Sun Labs exploring technologies and architectures for large data center switches. Prior to joining Sun in 1998 he was an Assistant Professor at ETH Zurich and a Principal Engineer at the Systems Research Center of the Digital Equipment Corporation in Palo Alto. At Digital Equipment Corporation, he worked on one of the first commercial ATM networks and on high-speed DES encryption. At ETH Zurich, he was the project lead of the Switcherland system area network, that introduced switched networking and quality-of-service guarantees to system-level interconnects. At Sun Microsystems, he has been working on cluster and network interconnects, wireless system monitoring, and cryptographic hardware accelerators. His areas of interests include computer architecture, networks, wired and wireless interconnects, and security.
