Ann Coulthard is an Engineering Project Coordinator for Sun Microsystems Laboratories for the VLSI Research project. Her expertise is in technical and patent documentation, web page design and creation, and chip layout.
Prior to Sun, Coulthard worked as the Assistant Director of the PhD program at the Stanford Business School. Early in her career, she worked as an Academic Advisor for the Biomathematics Group and Department of Oceanography at the University of Washington.
The VLSI Research Group develops high-speed circuit technologies and design methods that enable novel architectures. The circuit technologies include asynchronous circuits, low-power circuits and communications links. Design methods include intellectual tool and computer-aided design tools to help with circuit design, implementation and test.
