Nils Gura is a researcher for Sun Microsystems Laboratories, working on the Sedna project. His current interest lies in architectures, algorithms, and chip design for large switch fabrics.

In a previous project, Nils researched algorithms and hardware acceleration for future cryptographic technologies. This work included public-key security protocols for small devices such as used in sensor networks and hardware acceleration for Elliptic Curve Cryptography and other public-key algorithms.

Nils joined Sun Microsystems Laboratories in January 2001.

Education:

* MS Computer Science 2001, University of Ulm, Germany

* BS Computer Science 1997, University of Hamburg, Germany
