Paul Martin has conducted natural language research in Sun Microsystems Laboratories Boston since 1993, initially as the founder of the Speech Applications project, then as an individual contributor, and most recently as a contributor to the Knowledge Engineering project. Martin is currently building a high-performance Java system for parsing natural language, and also works in a labs group designing lock-free solutions for the bottlenecks that currently plague many highly concurrent data-sharing processes. Before joining Sun, Martin built systems that use human language to communicate with computer programs at the Stanford AI Lab, Xerox PARC, SRI AI Center, MCC, and IBM Austin. Martin received his PhD from Stanford in AI and his BS from NC State in EE and CS. Publications | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
