OMS (Open Media Stack) is a project in Sun Microsystems Laboratories to develop a complete royalty-free media solution. The codec specification (http://www.openmediacommons.org/collateral/OMS-video-v0.9.pdf) has been published. The codec software shall be made available to the community under royalty-free terms.
