Guest VM has a similar set of platform requirements to
Maxine, and these can be found
here.
In addition, Guest VM requires a 64-bit Xen hypervisor. Most of Guest VM can be built on
any x86-64 system, provided that the Xen header files are available, but requires
a system running Xen in order to build support for the Maxine Inspector and to run Guest VM images.
We develop Guest VM on both Solaris xVM and Linux.
While Guest VM can be built without an IDE, we use and recommend Eclipse
for development.
