Programming Language Research Group: Sample Code

Here is sample code in Fortress and other programming languages.

  • High-programmability implementation of the NAS CG Benchmark. This implementation of the NPB CG benchmark is written for clarity and readability. It is written in Fortran 90 and is intended as a readable introduction to the benchmark, and as an aid to understanding and evaluating implementations in new languages. This code was written by Eugene Loh at Sun to help us better understand how well we can do in HPC with existing languages. Our view is that, to justify a new programming language, we must achieve significant benefits beyond this. This code is a complete, working, self-verifying implementation of the benchmark. Simply add your favorite compiler switches.
