James Gosling Elected to National Academy of Engineering

"For the conception and development of the architecture for the Java programming language and for contributions to window systems," James Gosling has been elected to the National Academy of Engineering (NAE). James's election brings Sun's membership in the NAE to four, as James joins Bob Sproull, Guy Steele and Ivan Sutherland, Sun Fellows and members of Sun Labs, who are previously recipients of this honor.

James will be inducted into the NAE on October 3, in a ceremony to be held in Washington, DC. Congratulations, James!
