VLSI Research Group: Hiring

Sun Labs seeks four contributors to join research in novel communications circuits

Sun Labs, the research laboratory of Sun Microsystems Inc., employs about 200 of the best and brightest computer scientists and engineers, who study and create the latest technologies in hardware and software. Sun Labs has offices in Silicon Valley and in the Boston area.

The VLSI Research Group in our Menlo Park office in Silicon Valley seeks highly motivated contributors with B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. degrees. They will join a world-renowned group of talented engineers who are designing experimental computer architectures, high-speed communication links, and CAD tools.

You will have a strong foundation in transistor theory and operation, digital circuits, simulation in Verilog and Spice, and fluency in programming languages. Hands-on exposure to design using schematic capture and layout CAD tools, and experience testing chips in a lab environment is required.

You must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, which are critical for both your and the team's success. Also essential are your experience in research and your ability to tackle problems that have a large degree of uncertainty.

At Sun, you will have the opportunity to work with people from varied cultures, countries of origin, educational backgrounds, social backgrounds, schools of thought, expertise, interests, skills, and talents. Sun is an Equal Opportunity Employer and offers a comprehensive Benefits package. Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
